Wild Turkey Jalapeno Popper Recipe

Scott Einsmann   FeaturedVideoWild Meat   April 15, 2020

Any recipe that celebrates the purity and flavor of wild-game meat is usually the right choice. But sometimes you just want something undeniably delicious. This recipe for wild turkey jalapeno poppers is the latter.

What You Need

  • Turkey breast
  • Bacon
  • Jalapenos
  • Cream cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Scoop out the jalapeño seeds. Fill one half with turkey meat and the other with cream cheese. Photo Credit: ATA

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees.

Cut the jalapenos in half lengthwise, and scoop out the seeds. Fill the cavity of one half with cream cheese. Cut a slice of turkey breast and use it to fill the jalapeno’s other half. Marry the two halves to make the jalapeno whole again, wrap them with a strip of bacon, and secure the bacon with a toothpick. If a whole pepper is too big of a bite, follow the same process but use just half of the jalapeno. Place your prepared jalapenos on a wire rack, and bake them at 300 degrees for one hour. Let them cool. Enjoy.

It’s that easy to create this delicious bite of bacon, turkey, cheese and spicy pepper. How could you go wrong with that combination? Best of all, you can modify this recipe for various game species. Simply substitute turkey with duck, squirrel, pheasant, venison or any other game.
